First impressions count – even on the phone.

Since most people make instantaneous decisions about our competence and confidence within the first 30 seconds it is vital to remember the importance of making a good first impression.

Reality is that most people are either multi tasking or not being conscious of the moment when they answer the phone – we respond on auto-pilot.

3 important notes.

1. Your attitude is everything

2. Your voice is your calling card

3. LISTEN to the other person

This lesson of the day was brought to you as a direct result of a phone call I received from a business peer, whose attitude did not allow him to use his listening skills.

Do you know where your going to?

Alice and the Cheshire Cat

As Alice was wandering around in Wonderland, she asked the Cheshire Cat as to which direction she should walk.

The Cheshire Cat replied “That depends a great deal on where you want to get to”

“I don’t much care where,” said Alice.

“Then it doesn’t matter which way you walk” said the Cheshire Cat.

Setting goals to achieve your vision and know which direction you should move in can be as simple as 1, 2,3.

1)  Decide what it is you want and write it down.

2) Prioritize what is most important to you from the list

3) Commit each day on achieving that priority
